No Data Sales or Brokering
We have never sold, rented, or monetized visitor information, search terms, or geographical data to third-party data brokers, ad exchanges, or marketing aggregators.
Zero Tracking Cookies
TemperatureToday does not deploy third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or session recording software on your devices.
No Mandatory Accounts
You are never required to register an account, create a password, or submit email addresses and phone numbers to access complete weather forecasts.
Information Collection & Telemetry Protocols
We design our technical architecture so personal identifying data is never generated or stored in the first place.
1. Geolocation Coordinates & Client-Side Resolution
When you tap "Locate Me" or allow location permissions, your geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) are resolved directly within your browser through the standard W3C Geolocation API.
These coordinates are transmitted as transient query parameters to our weather proxy endpoint solely to retrieve relevant meteorological model data. We do not correlate coordinates with your personal identity, device fingerprints, or historical browsing sessions, and coordinates are never persisted to a database.
2. Local Device Storage (LocalStorage)
To remember your preferred temperature unit between visits, our web application stores a single client-side key in your browser's LocalStorage:
This key resides purely on your physical device and is never transmitted to or parsed by our server logs. You can clear this preference at any time via your browser settings.
3. Ephemeral Server Logs & Infrastructure Security
Like all web servers, our edge routing layer logs standard HTTP request headers (IP address, operating system, browser user agent, referring URL, and timestamp). These logs are utilized exclusively to detect malicious denial-of-service (DDoS) traffic, enforce API rate limiting, and maintain server reliability. Access logs are automatically rotated and purged every 30 days.
4. Third-Party Meteorological Service Providers
Weather telemetry is retrieved via automated server requests to Open-Meteo. Requests pass geographical coordinates to fetch numerical forecast grids. No user identifiers, cookies, or tracking headers are forwarded to Open-Meteo or any external weather infrastructure.

European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Under the GDPR, individuals have the right to access, rectify, or erase personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to processing. Because TemperatureToday collects no personally identifiable information (PII) and stores zero user accounts, we maintain no database records linking your real identity to browsing activities.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA & CPRA)
Under California law, consumers possess the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data. TemperatureToday affirms that it has not sold or shared consumers' personal information in the preceding 12 months, and does not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising.
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)
TemperatureToday provides general meteorological information accessible to educational institutions and the public. We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or store personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data to our servers, please contact us immediately for prompt deletion.
